So, I've been told that I have to tell you about myself!

Not the boring bits about being a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer with over 35 years of experience dealing with all aspects of property sale and purchase but the really interesting things like sky-diving over Australia, fighting sharks in the Indian Ocean and saving kittens from really, really big trees. The only problem is that I haven't done any of those things, the closest I've got to any of them is being stung by a jelly fish whilst on holiday in Spain.

If you want to stop reading now, then that's fine but if you really want to know the boring bits - here goes:

  • I've been involved in property all my working life.
  • I love my job.
  • I'm very proud of being Managing Director of Quick & Clarke.
  • I work with a fantastic team of passionate people.
  • I live in Walkington.
  • I love skiing.
  • I'm also great at eating and drinking beer - but you can tell that by my picture!

If you're still awake, that's it, that's me in bullet points, but if you want to know anything at all about any property related matter, feel free to email me at jon.myers@qandc.net Cheers!

I was possibly destined to become an Estate Agent when I met my now wife (Mike Quick's daughter) whilst at University reading Biology. It was her strong interest in house renovations and development that pulled me into ‘property’ although for half of my working life it was just a hobby and a second career.

After working in roles as varied as Management Accountancy to Selling Wound Dressings, I eventually succumbed and in 2006 I joined Quick & Clarke as a Residential Valuer, leaving again during the worst of the Financial Crash when I worked in Construction which further broadened my experience for my return to Agency in 2011.

Having a strong belief that the Estate Agency sector requires more regulation and professionalism I recently completed my National Association of Estate Agency and ARLA qualifications. Outside of work I have a passion for life, the outdoors and exercise.

I became an Estate Agent when I was 16 years of age (so of course not that many years ago!). Fast forward 36 years and I am loving it! I became a Valuer 30 years ago starting in North Yorkshire then moving across East where I found my favourite stomping ground.

Having worked predominantly in West Hull for the past 24 years I have worked across new homes, PX work and sales. I came to Q&C in 2006 and became a Director in 2014.

I am known to some as the "dog lady" as it is not a secret I love dogs! My husband has the patience of a saint and my family are my world. They say once you find a career you love you will never feel like you are working again-it is very true!

Having had a keen interest in property from a young age and buying my first investment property at 18, the move into estate agency was a natural transition for me. Gaining a deeper knowledge through my studies and under the wing of my former Director, Derek Smith, I naturally became a Valuer specialising in Hornsea and the surrounding areas. Having now worked for Quick & Clarke for over 22 years, the Hornsea Branch covers a particularly large area which provides a diverse portfolio which continues to make the job enjoyable and exciting. Outside of work I have two lively young children to keep me active and fully entertained, along with our dog, Olive, who is also a well-known face in our Hornsea Branch. When I do get the chance to relax, I enjoy yoga, meditation, walking, pottering in the garden and wine!

The veteran members of staff at Quick&Clarke will remember me helping out with floor plans and admin back in the mid 2000's in my late teens, however, my role in the company and industry officially started in 2017 when I returned from living abroad in India.

What began as a part-time negotiator role quickly evolved and since then I've worked my way up through a hands-on approach, strategic thinking, and a genuine commitment to people and performance. Currently leading our Property Management team, I am looking forward to broadening my expertise and organisational growth within the rest of the business. Outside of the office, you'll find me spending time with my husband and two children, walking or in my home gym, and travelling!
